In critique circles I am known for my hard truths. My tough-nuts, no-fluff approach has endeared me to many great authors, just as it has garnered hatred by a great many casual writers. In this book, you'll find much of the common advice I share with new writers along with the theory behind the processes, writing strategies, and a few techniques that if you implemented it into your work right now, you should see some massive improvements. I won't talk much on craft, since I know very little apart from my twenty-five years of creative writing experiences has taught me. But I will share some of the common advice that I received and railed against, then discovered how wrong I was, and the reasons behind it. If this book helps you even just a little, shared with a writing buddy who might benefit.

"You cannot change fate. But maybe, you can edit it just a little." If there is one thing Violet Ellis has learned in her five years as a Grim Reaper, it's that a) reaping souls and sending them off to the afterlife is the worst job in existence, b) her superior and de-facto boss Kevin is the most terrifying creature ever put on this earth and c) the Ledger is never wrong. Without exception, every person whose name appears in the mysterious Death Ledger is fated to die, and no force in the world is powerful enough to change that. But, much like every other rule, even cardinal ones are meant to be broken. After one of her routine reaps takes an unexpected turn, thanks to Violet's colleague and sometimes friend Mason, she finds herself in a dangerous and unfamiliar situation. One which involves a pair of unforgettable, electric blue eyes, whose owner has managed to do the impossible. Cheat Death. Though Violet can't help feeling a little glad that Mr. Logan Perfect Winslow didn't die, she is well aware that altering someone's fate is never a good thing. Death is not to be messed with. And the consequences of stopping the inevitable might just end up destroying Violet's whole world. 🥇 1. Place in the Pandora Awards, in the Fantasy category. #23 in Grim Reaper #34 in Soul

He ran into her at street theater. She was a force of nature, not a casual first time hire. She brought the house down with her performance, literally pulled the audience to their feet in standing ovation. Her performance was too real, unnerving, deeply unsettling to him. He spent all his energy keeping up with her. At the end of the play, she snatched her earnings from the director's hands and ran away, leaving a trail of questions behind her, the most burning one in his mind was: Would he ever see her again? ____________________ This ongoing novel imagines a world that our younger generations inherit after a series of successive presidencies in the same vein as the current model. There is no need for erecting walls, as the biggest divide created by humanity - that of social class - takes care of a post modern segregation. The poor are literally marginalized into slum-like townships and tend to be of color. The names of these townships would be enough to tell you their story. The rich, well, remain happily oblivious in the big American cities. In this world find a mysterious girl whose identity must be hidden or she would be hunted down and a young street actor who falls for her intrigue. Discover how they survive, born into a society not prepared to give them a chance. For them, the dystopia came without an apocalypse. At least 1% of the teens in Asphodel are estimated to be what, for a lack of a better word, we might call 'heroes'... some find their calling in dreams, others take portals to other worlds, and perhaps most dangerously, a few face sinister, supernatural evil within our own version of Earth. Whatever their quest, when it's all over, these people, known as Extras, tend to have trouble reintegrating into a decidedly not super world... and parents and siblings have trouble readjusting to their changed loved ones. Class 63 may offer a reprieve from the tumultuous outside world, but as tensions rise within the classroom, the Extras of the Class of 202X may find that the hardest battles are fought after the war is over.
