"He silently stared at me, his pale green eyes looking more and more dull by the second. It hurt to close my eyes, the spinning sensation sent shivers down my spine. All I could focus on was his soft hands fluttering around my face. I slowly opened my eyes, not remembering when I shut them. He smiled down at me and a soft giggle came from his parted lips. 'I knew I'd find you,' he whispered, his voice gently hitting my face as I flinched back, an uncanny grin on my face. 'don't you ever do that again,'" Shaeleigh is a sixteen year old girl who just seems to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. It's her fault for her brother's sickness, her fault for the hurricanes, and her fault that the accident happened. But when she meets Oliver, her world spins out of control as she tries to grasp the concepts of reality and fantasy.

"Do you really think it's that easy?" I ask, glaring up at him. He takes a step closer. "It's not going to work on me." He raises an eyebrow at me. "What's not going to work?" He asks, his voice barely above a whisper as he gently wraps an arm around my waist, caressing my cheek with the other. "I see exactly what you're doing, Oliver. I've seen you do it with every other girl. You sweet-talk them so they think you actually like them, and then you lower them into bed with you. Well guess what? I'm not falling for it." And with that, I walk out of the room, leaving him speechless.
