Mia Evian has to piece together the mystery of Zack Maddox, the bad boy whose life she saved, while simultaneously keeping her own crumbling life together before Zack ends up in trouble again - or worse yet, dead. ***** This is a love story. When Zack Maddox, a notorious bad boy, meets Mia Evian, a nobody with a disdain for arrogant pretty boys, the two teenagers' lives are thrown into chaos. Zack is a mystery Mia can't unravel, and as her family is torn apart by her father's infidelity, her newfound thrill-seeking attitude is the only thing keeping her head above water. As Mia's behaviour turns increasingly reckless, Zack becomes the lifeboat keeping her afloat. Mia thought she had a good grasp of the world, but she's beginning to realise the people around her are far more complex than she could have ever imagined. Worse still, she may not be the only one who needs a lifeboat. This is a love story - just not the kind you might expect. ***** Content warning: This story contains mild drug and alcohol use and themes of mental health, self-harm, and suicide. "You don't just call someone 'little girl' when they're just short and not really a small girl, you know." I said quietly and looked around, not wanting to talk to him. He shrugged, "And you don't just call someone 'tall boy' just because they're not little." ---- Skeeter Sanchez never thought she'd be able to have friends, experience pranking, or even just hang out with someone when her Dad and she moved into the neighborhood until Colt Summers, school's heartthrob and bad boy, chased her before classes start. Tyler Peterson, Colt's best friend, thought his life wouldn't get more interesting until he saw his best friend chase a girl he was sure he's never seen before. ---- "You're special to him," he said, smirking. "He never chases any girl." She glared at him as she tried to breathe, "he'll never catch me. I'll be dead if he did." Copyright © 2013 All Rights Reserved, including the right

This is a true story about my life. I was told to write a letter, a letter I didn’t want to write because I was afraid of dealing with my emotions. For your information I wasn’t pregnant nor have I ever been pregnant. I wrote this letter in June of 2012. I wondered if I should post it or not but that if I did, maybe I could help someone else in the same situation… I was asked to write this letter to help the grieving process move forward. I have a mental illness and when I have my good days, I always wonder back to this letter. Did I pay the biggest price anyone can be asked of to be well, in a sort of way, to think clearer. I was told by my doctor at the time to never have kids, that I wouldn’t be a good mother. That once pregnant I’d have to stop my medications, I’d go crazy and when my child would be born, I wouldn’t be able to touch or see him or her. After the birth, I’d be pumped back full of medications and it would take around two years to be somewhat ‘normal’. I’d probably lose custody, my child could have the same mental illness that I have and what would I do if we were sick at the same time…. My options: Give up my child and give him or her for adoption. I was also told I could get an abortion. Or…have a hysterectomy. This is a part of my story... and this is my letter.
