Then I realized, maybe it's because whenever we're happy we just wanted to cherish the moment with our eyes. We wanted to feel the joy and simply just enjoy it. We wanted it to be written in our memories because no one can steal it from there. But when we're sad, broken, frustrated, mad, and can't get over the pile of emotions by saying it to other people, that somehow even judge us, we have a pen and paper waiting for us to tell them. It's not as if you can keep those emotions to your memories. One day you'll just explode and it will really be a burden to carry it everyday. And if that happens, we still aren't ready to share it to other people, that's why we use them -pen and paper- 'coz they never judge. The things that even though you write so much, won't make you shut up and tell you you're being pathetic. It will listen to you without any complication. And surely it will never break the promise of telling it to everyone to have to be able to gossip about you. 'Coz when we're sad, we can't have the courage to even talk. When we're frustrated, we can't think clearly about the right things to say not to offend others. When we're broken, we just want to shut it all for once. When we're mad, we need to calm the storm so that we'll never shout to anyone. But with our pen and paper, there's no limitation. You can write all the things that you feel. No restriction. Elevators. Airplanes. Palaman ng Sandwich. Yung feeling na papunta ka pa lang at excited ka pa lang sa pupuntahan mo. Yung feeling na palapit pa lang yung birthday mo. Yung feeling na palapit pa ang isa pang espesyal na araw. Yung feeling na ilang oras na lang ay pasko na. Yung feeling na tatlong araw na lang simula na ulit ng pasukan. Yung feeling na nasa gitna ka pa lang at di ka pa nakakarating. Yung feeling na malapit na pero hindi pa. Yun ang laging gusto ko. Yung nasa gitna pa lang. Yung nasa gitna ka ng dalawang bagay. Gitna ng isang building. Gitna ng langit at lupa. Gitna ng dalawang matatabang tinapay. Gitna ng byahe papuntang disneyland. Mas gusto ko yung feeling tuwing nagbabyahe kesa doon sa nakarating ka na. Mas gusto ko yung feeling na may inaantay ka kesa doon sa nandyan na. I always like the things in between. "You only like things in between, Coreen. You only like the chase...
