Many, many years after Bramblestar's rulership, the Clans have had their peace. War and fighting was long forgotten, except for common quarrels. But nothing ever lasts as long as the Clans will live, and soon, their dark days return as unexpected as a cat pouncing on its prey. Things become difficult for five young cats as they receive a dark and dangerous new prophecy that had been buried in the depths of time itself. All of these apprentices are trying to become accomplished warriors to their Clans, but it becomes more dangerous and difficult as mysterious new beings come and go within their territories, wrecking havoc. Now, it's up to these five apprentices and their friends to solve the mysteries of the prophecy that is told to them by StarClan themselves, before all connection with their ancestors is lost. The cats of BrokenClan never stay in one place. Their kits grow up on the move, simply because of one reason: They live in fear.Seasons ago, a loyal warrior and his mate betrayed the cats in their clan by murdering the medicine cat and two elders. Harespring gave her life to protect Flintthorn and Jaggedbreeze. The cats, on the full moon, were going to the gathering. Harespring had stayed behind, as Jaggedbreeze and Flintthorn were too old for the Gatherings, to take care of them. Her apprentice, Sandstone, had went in her place. At the time, there were no queens with nursing kits, and the clan was small, so all the cats went.Boulderjaw and Dewsplash went with the cats, but then doubled back, heading in the direction of camp. Harespring had been surprised to see them, and then Boulderjaw jumped on Flintthorn, snapping his spine with the impact of his strong legs. Jaggedbreeze was in shock, and Dewsplash and Boulderjaw were more than a match for the healer.They then killed Jaggedbreeze.

Harekit, though, could see through her lies. "You're lying!" Bloodfrost yowled, "Don't you dare accuse my mate of lying!" "But you two are in different clans!" Harekit mewed. "We're both in Fangclan!" Bloodfrost growled. "This.... this is wrong!" Harekit said. "How can you all be part of this... this clan of foxhearts!" He scurried away, running as fast as his paws could carry him. Some of the Fangclan cats were looking mad, while others were surprised. Tigerstar did nothing though, despite the anger of betrayal by his own kin is his eyes. As Harekit disappeared into the tunnel to surface, Tigerstar faced his clan. "Don't worry, he won't be able to resist the thirst for long." He said, trying to hide the bristling of his fur. "He'll be back." Tortoisekit, Harekit, and Blackkit were always raised on the legend of the Fifth Moon, every fifth moon, instead of having a gathering, guards would be posted, patrols would cease, gatherings would be canceled, and cats of all statures, from apprentice to leader, would bundle up in the biggest den, pelts trembling in fear. This is Tigerstar's curse upon the Clans. One night Tortoisekit, Harekit, and Blackkit stray from Thunderclan camp, in search of this mysterious Tigerstar, stories told by the elders to keep kits away from the evil forces of the Dark Forest. A Tigerstar who had no kindness in his stone cold heart. But after Tigerstar returned, more powerful and feared than ever, he instituted the Fifth Moon rule. Every Fifth Moon, Tigerstar would return to haunt the territories of all the clans, and if any cat was found outside their camp, they'd suffer a fate worse than anything; their bodies would be found in the morning, drained of all blood, jaws stuck in a horrifying yowl, and a distinctive bite in their necks. "Starclan will fall, and the Dark Forest will rise again."

Dedicated to xXQueenShadowXx Sparrowkit is a runt, and is ignored by his sister, who is his only littermate, and all the other kits... Except one. He befriends this other kit, another runt, who is a moon older. After a hard day of being ignored and tearing up, he promises to protect her, Pollenkit. It also doesn't help that Sparrowkit's life will be filled with grief, terrible, terrible grief. Though Sparrowkit always keeps a brave face on and faces life as if it is perfect after his mother delivers a message that his life will be filled with horrible grief that no cat, not even the StarClan cats, can change.
