It's the year 2744, and humans are no longer at the top of the hierarchy. Parasitic aliens calling themselves Trypanorans have followed signals to Earth, and as of the present, humans and Trypanorans are at war- and slowly but surely, the humans have been driven underground. People eke out what living they can below the surface. A new rhythm sets in, a new sort of normalcy encompassing a life without the sun, a constant state of lacking and periodic attacks from above. Yet again, for a pair of twins, normalcy is disturbed. One of them is plucked away by the invading aliens, and the other is left behind. The one who was taken tries to find her way home. The one who remained seeks to turn the tide in the battle and save people from becoming hosts. Much will change when next they meet- if they meet again. And neither of them are certain they'll know how to negotiate these changes.
