Shanice Smith, a shy black woman with an aptitude for working and helping those around her. After finding employment in McGregor companies, she develops a soft spot for her very friendly and elderly white British boss who's like a father to her. But then, the said boss is retiring, and it's time for the son to step in. McGregor Jr just happens to be an arrogant, pompous, snarky and rude human with an accent to die for. From the first day he stepped foot in the company, he's made it his mission in life to torment and overwork his assistant. Despite the emotions he sparks in Nia, she detests him. Or maybe it's just a cover for her growing feelings. Working for him was no walk in the park. He works hard, and he demands the same from his employees, particularly his assistant. At first it was to get a reaction from her, but then it turned into something more. Along the line, she makes an enemy, one who just happens to hate everything she defines; a black person. Then something happens, and she has no one else to turn to but him. He might just turn out not to be as mean as she first thought. Throw in some trips, a pet, a kidnapping and an obnoxious younger sister who's hell bent on finding a romance where there's none. Or is there? Let's see how Shanice copes with him when she just can't stand his arrogant sexy arse. You will hate, and you will love. CEO/Assistant.. BWWM romance... Mild content/trigger warning: racial discrimination.

After a particularly terrible experience with her adoptive father and a few drinks, Rebecca Harrison finds her much-needed escape from reality in her soon-to-be biology teacher. When the two meet again at the beginning of the school year, neither know what to make of the situation. But their conflict with each other is no match for the conflict Rebecca faces with her adoptive father, and the two soon find themselves developing a relationship that tests both of their willingness to let others in. For entirely different reasons, they find themselves pushing each other away. Until they realize that their reasons aren't so different at all. This story is girlxgirl, teacherxstudent, and it deals with topics such as abuse, alcoholism, and suicide. It's my best work but it can be depressing at times & may be triggering to some. [Editing on-going, Sequel - TBD]

"Is there a reason why you have chosen my unit for this particular mission, Colonel?" Thomas asked. "Do I need a reason?" "No, sir, I..." Thomas trailed off and a still silence fell between them before he spoke up again. "You're troubled, sir... I can sense it. There's something about this mission that you're not telling me." Kyden turned around, his steely grey eyes locked with the blue ones of his curious protege. "It is because of that intuition alone that I chose you for this mission..." Kyden approached Thomas and lowered his head. Placing a hand on his shoulder he spoke softly. "You will see things that you won't be able to comprehend. Have questions that don't have answers. Be forced to make decisions that will risk the lives of your unit... if you don't decide carefully..." "Yes, sir." Thomas adjusted the cap on his head and headed towards the door. "I will prepare my unit immediately." "Captain Thomas." Thomas looked back at Colonel Kyden. "People fear what they do not understand. Fear leads to hate. Hate leads to violence. Do not give into fear. Use that brilliant mind of yours to see past the surface." Thomas considered his Colonel's curious words and nodded respectfully before exiting. ~ "Captain, if I may," Merrick said suddenly snapping Thomas out of his thoughts. "Were you aware that Weapon 86... was a woman?" *** This is a fantasy/science-fiction story set in a post-apocalyptic world.
