Riley doesn't remember the last time someone asked if she was okay. Not really asked. Not in the way that meant they were going to stay for the answer. She is seventeen years old and she has already learned the most important lesson this town has to offer - that people leave. They leave with promises folded neatly in their pockets, with good intentions they fully mean at the time, with duffel bags and bus tickets and fifteen days that turn into three years without a single word. They leave, and the ones left behind learn to stop waiting by the window. They learn to stop setting an extra plate. They learn to breathe around the absence until the absence just becomes the air. Riley works the late shift. She carries drinks to tables without being asked twice. She doesn't flinch at loud voices anymore. She doesn't cry at things that used to make her cry. She has become very good at being invisible in a room full of people - and even better at being invisible to herself. This is not the life she imagined. But it is the life she has. And she has made her peace with it, quietly, the way you make peace with things you never had a choice about. She is not waiting for anyone anymore. She stopped doing that a long time ago. Until the night a familiar face walks through the door - and three brothers who left her behind must now face what their absence built. Because blood doesn't forget. And neither does Riley.

Some ghosts never die. For William Slate, there's always been his troubled older brother Charlie. When Charlie left home in the aftermath of a violent confrontation, scars and a childhood cut short was the legacy he left behind. Seven years later, William Slate is finally in control, and he won't give that up for anything. Athena Slate is an open book. Self-reliant and brutally honest, she refuses to let anything get in her way. Not an increasingly distant twin brother, not a best friend she hasn't seen in months, and certainly not the things people start to say about her at school... When their father announces that Charlie is returning home, Will and Athena must navigate minefields of memory and family. ⭐️FEATURED by @StoriesUndiscovered, @YA, @CommunityTeam, and @NewAdult ⭐️

"Strength isn't about how much you can handle before you break; it's about how much you can endure after you've been broken" *** Astria Belle Crawford hasn't had the best of childhood. The separation from her brothers and father had affected her in ways even she couldn't understand. Her mother's manipulative nature wasn't exactly the comfort she needed but she worked with it and went on with life. But when her mother decides that she needs a break from everything, including her daughter, Astria is sent off to live with her elder brothers whom she hadn't met in at least nine years. With understandable reluctance, she agrees to live with them. But dark truth comes forward as Astria realizes that her whole life was just a web of lies and she may never be the same again. On top of this, it just turns out that life with her brothers may not be as easy as she had assumed, it might as well be worse than one with her mother. And when her brothers persuade her to live with them, unknown to what's happening with their little sister, life just gets ten times worse for Astria. *** #1 in brothers - 19/11/2021 #1 in support - 1/10/2021 #1 in annoying - 31/10/2021 #1 in studies -1/2/2022 #1 in abused -13/3/2022 #1 in siblings -15/3/2022 #1 in manipulation -24/4/2022

Riley's two older brothers do everything they can to protect her from their violent step-father. But what happens when they realise she wasn't as protected as they thought. Will her brother's find out the dark secrets she has been hiding? And can she break free from her inner demons? This is Riley's story. *** "Pl..Please..." cried Riley as she stumbled on the steps. "I love it when you beg," laughed Vincent as he dragged Riley to her bedroom. Shoving her into the bedroom he closed the door behind him, turning the lock. "How long do I have?" asked Vincent as he sauntered up to Riley who backed herself against the wall. "Not long, Jason will be back any minute now," lied Riley, her heart beating hard in her chest. Vincent placed his arms on either side of Riley's body, trapping her in while dipping his head to her eye level. "I think my little birdy is lying to me," he smirked. "Now tell me, how long do I have," he asked again, pulling out a knife from his pocket and sliding it up Riley's back underneath her hoodie. He pressed the knife into the flesh of her back and started to press down, cutting slowly into her skin. "Tell me," he repeated. "Thr..ee h..hours," sobbed out Riley. // WARNING: This story contains themes of self harm, rape and violence.
