This is not a full story. This is a dumping ground for a bunch of random disconnected stuff that I started working on years ago and never finished. The first novel I ever wrote was called "Tommy." It was the first of three books in what I decided to call "The Timepiece Chronicles." Then I decided to call the first book "Changeling." Then I decided to call the SERIES "Changelings," and the first book "Tommy" again. And since the entire series was written during various NaNoWriMos and was terrible, I decided the whole thing needed a rewrite and began rewriting it here. And then I didn't finish. Even though the story never got beyond its (terrible) first draft, I actually have a LOT of writing on it. So while I started this Wattpad book as a rewrite of Tommy, I'll be using it from now on as a dumping ground for excerpts, drafts, sources, etc. Here's a couple of the original summaries of this story: ~~ooOoo~~ A fairy has made friends with a human boy. When she gets kidnapped by Iron-fey, the boy sets out to find her, setting off a whole chain of events that involves the unlikeliest people. ~~ooOoo~~ There are fairies who haunt the dark hidden streets of the city, committing quiet murders and taking children from their homes. Antala has always known how to avoid them. She is the messenger between the worlds of Faerie and Iron, and despite the danger of her job and her own fascination with the poisonous world, she has been able to keep herself safe. Until now. She has been kidnapped by these Iron Fey, and nobody knows where to find her. The only person to set out and look for her is a five-year-old human boy she befriended. And this boy, stumbling innocently through the unknown, is soon to become pivotal in the eons-old battle between the worlds of Faerie and Iron themselves.

The first mermaid is discovered rotting on a rocky shore. The second is found, freshly dead, across the ocean. But the third mermaid... the third mermaid is caught alive. Dr Ian Woon heads the scientific study bent on understanding this new, fascinating organism. But to him, it's hard not to feel more personally attached to the mermaid in their tank. Her existence has excited the world, but it's only confused him. Especially when she starts singing. And when she lets him know that she has a soul. *a loose retelling of Hans Christian Andersen's The Little Mermaid* DISCLAIMER 1: This is a NaNoWriMo 2013 novel. While I'm trying to be very careful with all the scientific stuff I talk about in this story, I will of course make mistakes, because it's NaNo and I don't have time to research. If I ever catch myself talking about something that I know is wrong, I'll (maybe) make a note of it. If you do see something wrong, I would appreciate you bonking me on the head and correcting me. :) DISCLAIMER 2: Story is not actually complete. Repeat, STORY IS NOT ACTUALLY COMPLETE! I'm very sorry, but the final chapter does explain why. Ever since the invention of Glass, a flexible and interactive touchscreen surface that now covers most of the world, Blip has led a comfortable life. It was his father who invented it. But Blip's unthinking happiness is interrupted when he meets a girl for whom the Glass has been anything but a blessing. Serafina is the daughter of a struggling janitor, and she has been deaf from birth. Every cent her family makes must be saved up for a hopefully better future. She has never let herself have an opinion about those who are rich and above her--until she meets a boy to whom Glass means the world. *An August 2012 Camp NaNoWriMo novel and a November 2012 NaNoWriMo novel* Note: Because this is a product of two NaNoWriMos, there are several flaws in this story. I am aware of them. Also because of this, it never quite reached the place in the plot that I wanted it to go. Perhaps someday I will continue it. Perhaps not.
