[One Million Project - Fantasy/Sci-Fi Anthology] Russell Cornelius Brattle - a punctual and orderly teen - worked long hours as an apprentice tinker to provide for his broken family. His cousin Agatha - a free-spirited youngster - was eager to put her sewing days behind her and get her hands greasy. But she and her prosthetic limb turned out to be more trouble than they were worth. One act of clumsiness put into motion a chain of events that not even Russell could fix... __________ This short story appears in the Fantasy/Sci-Fi edition of the One Million Project (OMP). What if . . . you could redo it all? The novella. #3 TimeTravel. If you could go back in time and redo one thing in your life, what would it be? Anaya, a disillusioned, thirty-five-year-old doctor, has been looking after Gregory, a retired watchmaker and resident of an aged care facility. On her last visit, he gifts her his final creation, an exquisitely-crafted watch, knowing she will die tragically that very day. It will turn back time. With one condition: she must choose the time and place to reset the clock, and redo just one thing in her life. Regrets, it seems, are easy to realise when you're dying. Hers was dropping out of school at seventeen. But what if, after one small change, her life would become much worse than it was? Or unthinkable disasters result from a single step off her path? When the alternative is die now, her choice makes itself. And so, Anaya's story begins with her last thought. Would I have done this if I had any option but the grave? Would you?

Origins, the first installment of Codex Adma, tells the story of an all-powerful creator called Elo, of his establishment of a planet called Atmos, and of adma, the human-like inhabitants of Atmos. Atmos was created perfect, and all that lived there thrived, existing harmoniously, according to the purpose given them by their creator Elo. But from the midst of pride death entered the realm, and a cosmic battle between good and evil ensued. This enigmatic struggle is unveiled through the travails of a common farmer named Epinos, who, in the most ancient age of Atmos, sets out on a perilous quest to find a cure for his ailing daughter Esa, and perhaps the secret to life eternal. Travelling from town to town had never been a problem for Aaliyah, but a single night changed it all. One encounter leaves her with a red hood, glowing golden eyes, half the soul she once had and an insatiable hunger for the souls of her comrades. Suddenly, nothing is as it once was. Now the leader of a steal-from-the-rich-and-give-to-the-poor caravan called Hood, Aaliyah's secrets are becoming harder to hide and impossible to deny. With a relentless assassin on her tail, the reappearance of the savior she assumed was dead, and the wavering opinion of the companion she relied upon most, loss seems imminent in Aaliyah's future. The souls she has stolen are tired of waiting for the retribution they deserve, and something tells Aaliyah that they have a much stronger hold on her mind than she ever imagined. *** Cover by Astariel

Tutelar Idris Menhyr is a brutal and enigmatic man, waging a campaign to eliminate the other warlords of Tirgodh. Tradition demands he stoke the fires of war, but he is driven by deeper motivations. Ahn, trained as a chronicler from birth in Ashiir, and assigned by divine decree, has the delightful task of recording every last word the man mutters, every step he takes. The Council of Kings sits apart from the blood shed in their name, ever vigilant of their kingdoms as they teeter between stability and stagnation. When a piece becomes too successful, too aggressive, sacred rites are invoked to manipulate the arena back into order. When Idris receives demands from the Council of Kings, he foists the task upon his chronicler and puts the tedious matter to the back of his mind. Ahn forges ahead, lost in a duty she has little knowledge of, and Tutelar Menhyr discovers that even a burr, if left to fester, can prove toxic.
