An account of the last days of the ElvenQueen. Lairiel of Lorien was a Telerian elleth, and guardian of the Valar's creation. A chance encounter, on a political exchange to Greenwood, has her fate entwined with that of the Great Forest - she chose Oropher's son. She is Thranduil's most beloved treasure, and the light of the people she so readily embraced. But, as Greenwood falls into darkness even the King and his Queen are not immune to the evil of Sauron. ***Note: I wrote this story ten years ago, and I'm keeping it very much to its original form and plot. Therefore this is not a Gundabad story, nor a dragon fire plot. It is not influenced by the hobbit movies. It was how I imagined the tragedy of the ElvenKing, and was my very first fanfiction*** ***Disclaimer: All recognisable characters belong to the master Tolkien. Without him we would never have had such wonderful freedom of imagination. Lairiel and Ellenya are my own beloved OCs, their stories do belong entirely to me.***

Oh Digby, we're not in the Pie Hole anymore... My rather ridiculous fic on Ned's reaction to waking up in Mirkwood...only to discover he is in fact the ElvenKing. Just for giggles. The Kingdom of Mirkwood, prior to the events told in "The Hobbit" is a peaceful and prosperous kingdom that thrives under King Thranduil's rule. But a dark power is growing and a troubled Thranduil sends his son Legolas with the guard Tauriel to seek the counsel of Elrond, who was at that time a strong ally of the woodland realm. While the two friends forbidden love begins to bloom, they are unaware of the rumors of betrayal that are running through the halls of Rivendell, threatening to send deep rifts between the two kingdoms.

They say you'll know the love of your life from the first sight. But they are wrong. Life in Middle-Earth is never easy, especially to a young maiden who has captured a certain kings heart. PS! The story was edited 21.09.2017 so please, everybody who read it before that date, read it again. It is different now and better. :)
