At first Ozpin thought this was normal, kids have imaginary friends all the time, but quickly he saw that this was no case of overactive imagination. Moving past his self adopted son's, slightly, schizophrenic nature, he decides to enroll him at Beacon when he reaches the correct age.

The most wanted man in Remnant accepts a contract to find and capture a certain cat faunas that is going to attend Beacon, but things don't go exactly as planned.
