Other vampires beside Alex are trying to get to William because of his rich blood, William can change how a vampire live. The results to that, boy with dark hair and light eyes can attract current undead and can be life threatening. But Alex will do anything to protect William for getting hurt, even if he doesn't love him back right away.

And no matter how much his Pack disapproves of his mating, Channing will stand by his mate. He'll protect Shay even if he has to become the monster lurking inside him to do it.
