Tahro Akagi shouldn't live in two worlds at once. Yet, forced to spend his days studying by a no-nonsense mother, he longs for adventure. In a moment of desperation, Tahro's soul splits in two. While one of his selves remains in Japan, the other finds himself in Saishuu Riku, the lands of his favourite book. Engrossed in this world more than he ever thought possible, Tahro saves a character's life. But if a butterfly's wings can bring thunderstorms, then his every breath is another flap as it flies- his every heartbeat a danger to those around him. Unwittingly, he becomes entangled in a web of conspiracies between ministers, a murderous witch and a kidnapper with butterfly-patterned knives. Tahro learns he's changed the plot too much. Events that should happen don't and his new friends are caught in a crossfire he wants no part in. And when his friend is kidnapped, saving her could put everyone else in danger. Yet Tahro can't stand by and watch. *** I update every Saturday. Blurb written with the help of @catlegis. This was previously titled as The World Changer. #thecrystallineawards #TEA2020 #BGAwards #spiceoffawards #TheOasisAwards

"You will be the downfall to those who will stretch their hands out to you. And those whom you will stretch out your hand to will be your downfall." I thought the person who said that was some crazy fellow who wanted to extort money from me but... I should have known better. I should have never ignored those warnings.

"My dear, you've been living the equivalent of two lifetimes in one. And at some point, these lifetimes would converge and collide." Themis lightly waves her hand and the blue butterfly flutters out of her hand. "Two lifetimes?" Crystal is highly skeptical again. "Yes, and at some point, you would be faced with a moment of great change. The road will become forked somewhere. And the path you chose to go down would have an enormous bearing on the rest of your life." --- Crystal's childhood was anything but normal, plagued by strange happenings and tragedies. The person who saved her from depression and isolation was her best friend, Jackson. Now the founder of a highly successful company, she starts finding strange and unusual things happening to her again. Recurring dreams led her to meet a psychic named Themis, who tells her that she was living the equivalent of two lifetimes in one and that at some point, these lifetimes would converge. Themis also warns her that she is in grave danger. There are people who need her alive and there are people who need her dead. But in order to understand her life and who she truly is, she must confront this situation. Soon after her meeting with Themis, she is ambushed by people looking to capture her and encounters the man who's voice she's been hearing in her head. And quickly, Crystal is pulled into a world unlike anything she has ever seen before.

Rebecca hates the system. She's paired with a cookie-cutter human called Jake, sees her dream job given away to a liar, and is forced to work in endless code as a programmer. Nothing is what she would choose for herself. When she and a boy with many secrets, Scott, discover a flaw in the system, they realize they can change everything. Jake could be with his real love. Rebecca could follow her dream of writing. Society can be turned on its head with the sweep of a keystroke. If they're caught, they face a fate far worse than becoming a Lower. The advice you will find here follows the Chicago Manual of Style which is widely used by American publishers. There are some variances in style from country to country (and even from American publisher to American publisher.) **It may be easier to search the Table of Contents, as there is no rhyme or reason right now to chapter order.**
