Imagine having your own familiar. What would it be? A mystical creature? A dragon? A unicorn? A griffin? In this world, all fourteen year olds will get their familiar. The familiar choses you. Aria Lyore is one of them, excited to get her very own familiar! Join her on her journey, with her familiar. However, her joy is short-lived as terrible plans are revealed.

Tabby hasn't seen her mother for years, ever since the divorce between her mother and father. Since then, she's developed a loathing for her real mother, and wishes that her step-mother, Meg, was her real mother. She's grown protective of her younger step-sister Anya, and can barely stand the thought of leaving her. But one day, Tabby learns that she's supposed to go to her real Mother's, where she'll meet her odd, other step-sister (her real mother's child), her somehow-off-but-handsome step-father, and her real mother, who looks much more different than when Tabby last saw her. At the house, Tabby learns of mysteries beyond her own knowledge, and seeks to find the answer to them, but is intrigued with the fact that they all point to one thing- dragons.

Quincy Mercer, the proclaimed "fatso" of her pack, has finally had enough. Enough of her psycho mother, hateful father, dumbass brothers, and uncaring pack. So what's a girl to do? Run away to live with her aunt of course! But when Quincy, 2 years later, is forced to return to her oh-so-wonderful family, what's gonna happen? And more importantly, why did she leave?
