[Watty Awards Finalist 2013] The virus has begun. A deadly virus that destroys humanity. A virus that replaces the living with creatures that crave human flesh. As the human race dwindles, an unlikely group of young survivors battle against the odds to live. Walkers aren't the only thing who tear people apart. Electra Walsh knew that, she knew that better than anybody. It has been approximately 300 days since all hell broke lose on earth, or in other words, since the dead started walking. It has been approximately 217 days since Electra Walsh lost herself, since she was pushed off of that edge and came crashing down to the bottom of her own humanity, if you could even call it that. It had been approximately 217 days since Electra Walsh lost those who she loved dearest. But, with new threats awry there has never been a more important time for Electra to be on top her game and integrate in the Atlanta Survivor Group again...for her sake and for theirs. -Disclaimer- Obviously, I do not own ‘The Walking Dead’, any characters associated with ‘The Walking Dead’ or it’s story line. I mean, if I did, I wouldn't be writing fan fiction of Wattpad would I? Anyway, back to the point. The characters I do own and take full credit for are: Electra Walsh, Thea Harrison and Mark Hartman. Note: Just because some dead peoples names are in the cast list does not necessarily mean that they are just going to resurrect from the dead, it means that they will appear in flashbacks or dreams. Everything's food for something else. Humanity has been on top of the food chain for their entire existence. When a disease unlike any other seen before could potentially wipe out the whole human race, the world's top scientists are all sent too Atlanta to discover a way to extinguish the flame before it starts a forest fire. England's top zoologist (sent to observe the behaviour of the infected) is only in the air for twelve hours. But a lot can happen in a short space of time. Whilst Electra is in the comfort of her aeroplane seat up above, all hell breaks loose down below as the disease becomes an epidemic spreading like wild fire. On arriving in Columbus she comes face to face which what seems to be the apocalypse. The dead are walking, but will the living be walking for long?

Rain falls from the clouds and plummets down to the lands where it is then devoured by the earth. Rain is what helps the earth and its inhabitants thrive; but now, rain is what will destroy the earth itself. As people get caught in the rain, they change. They lose their civility and everything that made them what they were. A simple umbrella won't save you this time. *This is the original un-edited version*
