I am going to be a senior in high school and I have just found out that I am dying. I have been for a few months now. My doctors have told me that I will live until next fall, but it will be late fall, as in end of October beginning of November. When the doctors said this my mother started balling her eyes out. My dad did too but he tried to hide it. He can hide his feelings but not from me or mom. We can always tell when something is going on.
I myself am shocked. I never thought that something like this would happen. Especially not my senior year of high school. “This is the time in your life where you really begin to experience life.” That is what my parents are always saying. This year wont be anything like that.My doctors have told me that no one will be able to tell that I am dying. I will remain looking the same as I do in this very moment. Well exactly what I looked like a few months ago. My light brown kind of blonde hair will stay the same and I wont look old when I die. They tell me that they will do everything that they can to stop me from dying. I have agreed to whatever they have to do and my parents have already signed all of the papers in advance.
“Mom, Dad, I’m going to leave. I wont be home for a little while, but I will call you when I’m coming home.”
“Okay sweetie.” dad pauses then says. “Have fun.”
I walk out of the hospital and I get into my car and start driving. I know where I am going the only question is, will he open the door.
