Before I have the chance to have you read this story, I will just tell you now this is not one of those Once Upon A Time and Happily Ever After stories, no. This is a story of a little girl named Brenda Jeston who has rough times with her family, her mother died of cancer so she had hard time trying to talk with her abusive father. She'd go to school afraid trying to avoid the bullies that she can. She only had one friend, Amanda Denive. Amanda always tried to protect her friend, but she was the one who would end up getting hurt in fights just for her own best friend. Brenda tells her to stop and when Amanda does stop, the bullies end up pushing Brenda around, calling her names. When she gets home, something wrong is always happening that makes her father loose it and beat her. If Brenda says anything her father will beat her even more. When she goes to sleep she gets nightmares and wakes up off the bed in the middle of the night and doesn't sleep for the rest of the night. Even if it's only 5 more hours for her to wake up. She thinks of contemplating suicide, so she will sneak out in the middle of the night and walk to the woods across from her house. Her mother was buried there because Her father couldn't afford to bury her in the cemetery.
