Každý, kdo říká, jak je láska krásná, sladká, dokonalá, bezchybná a úžasná, tak nikdy opravdu nemiloval. Láska je krutá, zvrácená svině, v jejímž jméně zemřelo nespočet lidí, umírá za ní nespočet lidí právě v tuto chvíli a nespočet lidí kvůli ní ještě zemře. A přesto je právě láska to, po čem vášnivě touží každá živá bytost.
