Crystal's father was killed in combat when she was 13. His death hit her the hardest. Her father and her were always close. Very close. She became depressed and vulnerable. Her mother started to pity her. It hurt her that that's what her mother thought of her. Then one day a speaker for the armed forces came to her school and she felt like gravity was pulling her torwards that decision. So she did. She joined the Army.
