He was born in 1561 and turned, at the age of 30, in 1591. He's very much not a stereotypical vampire. He's utterly beautiful, and utterly unaware of it. He's the sort of guy that everyone wants to hang out with. Unlike many of his kind, he doesn't take himself too seriously. He's sociable, fun, and funny. His sense of humour targets himself far more often than it does anyone else and keeps those around him laughing. Shade knows when to talk and when to listen. He's got a way about him that inspires trust; even the most taciturn of people find themselves opening up and talking to him. But behind the easy laughter there's a serious side to him, a depth that few see, and a lot of pain that he doesn't share. Which means that, unless you get very close to him, you'll never get to hear about events like this one. He's had an interesting and colourful life, but then, he's an interesting and colourful guy, and lucky for you, I'm not quite as jealously protective of his privacy as he is. Read on...

Luke didn't believe in love at first sight. He'd almost given up believing in love altogether. And then he met Marc... This is the (ongoing, WIP) story of Luke's dark past, of Marc's troubled present, and of what happens when the two collide. Trigger warnings: SEX. Lots and LOTS of detailed m/m sex. Deals with physical violence in the home (Marc's dad) Alludes to an abusive ex boyfriend.

I wrote this crazy and utterly random rant on a long, boring drive from Cornwall, where I live, to Derbyshire, where I was spending Christmas. It made the drive go quicker, and it entertained me. Hope it does the same for you. PS: I put the 'mature' label on, basically because I used the words 'cock' and 'fucking', but to be honest, especially compared to most of my other work, it's not very 'mature content' at all. PSS: My boyfriend had died in the summer of that year, and it was my first Christmas without him, hence the slightly emo ending.

Short fiction. It's maybe a little angsty. Strange how life turns out. I wrote this when my boyfriend was alive. It wasn't a premonition of his death, it was just a story, an imagining, if you will, of how I'd feel if he died. 2 years later he did die, suddenly and unexpectedly, in a car crash. It was a long time before I could read this story without crying. Far, far longer still before I could let anyone else read it. Anyway... I thought I'd share it with you. It's not a happy, feel-good piece, but I hope you enjoy it regardless. It's from the heart. It's about love, and pain, and how people become a part of you, and without them, something is missing.
