This poem goes deep about an African American woman who battles depression, someone who had an idol that has just committed suicide, it's a poem about a woman who battles a lot of hard ache plus the "disadvantages" of being born colored. Although we all know brown skin is just as lovely as pale skin, it is just a quick poem about a young girls mind and everyday feelings, also be mindful that this is based on true events from this past year, this is a teenage girl who is on her last year of highschool trying to find a college, career, & a plan. Reading this poem will help give you a better perspective of how I feel, enjoy.

Janelle is tested and denied by most of her family and some of the people she used to call friends and because of it she feels like she is hated by all and doesn't even understand love anymore.She thinks her vivacious body will get her love but it fails and she is left even more borken hearted in the end.But it takes a certain man to change her life for the better.
