Toothless, Hiccup's best friend and trusted right-hand dragon, is now Alpha to the Dragons, after the fall of the Bewilderbeast. Hiccup has a long ride as he has to be accepted as chief and prove himself worthy and with fellow dragons riders, Snotlout, Fishlegs, Ruffnut, Tuffnut and of course, Astrid and their trusty dragons, he knows he can do it. Things are looking up for the Berkians, but Odin has other plans. The return of old faces, results in new enemies and the entire village is put into danger by someone unexpected. Who can the Berkians trust, especially when it now seems that everyone is an enemy? And also, what will come of Astrid and Hiccup's love when a green-eyed monster will do everything in her power to break them apart, claim Hiccup and rule Berk for her own?

Astrid found scales of a Night Fury and thinks it her fault that Hiccup is dead. Four years later the teens from Berk go fishing and end up finding the Night Fury and a old friend.

But when Astrid goes for a walk into the woods after a frustrating day maybe just maybe there is a glimmer of hope. But Berk has been receiving mutable attacks from the outcast, who are trying to find Stoick's weakness and take over Berk. When Alvin the leader of the outcast discovers Astrid's little secret maybe they have found something worth everything to Stoick and that may get them their victory.
