[watty's longlist 2018] Elisa Robinson has only one thing on her Summer to-do list: Go to Jamaica with her best friend. But after an ignorant tweet sent in the heat of the moment, her parents threaten to make her get a job so she could see life through a different set of eyes. Elisa was against the idea until she realized it was kind of perfect. If she stayed home, she could keep an eye on Adam, her boyfriend. She knew they were drifting a part and leaving the country might not improve things. So instead of sunbathing on an island, Elisa was scooping ice cream for rowdy kids. The only thing keeping her sane was her co-worker, Julian. He was the polar opposite of Adam and served as the perfect distraction from her failing relationship. An innocent friendship soon turns to something more as Elisa spends more and more time with Julian. Is it just a rebound or is she really falling for him?

Mia Perkins life is a wreck. Her friends aren't speaking to her, her dad and his new wife are having a baby and she's positive her mom hates her. Then there's Calvin Benton, her new neighbor who is a little too honest for her liking. But maybe honesty is just what she needs. *** This is an unedited first draft and my first book, so it's kind of terrible.

The sun was rising, and for the first time, Shamse wasn't the only one awake on the sombre street watching the sun rise. That very same morning, Edward caught sight of the rising sun but just before, he caught a glimpse of the human embodiment of sunshine, Shamse. The light bestowed by the sun and the moon guide us through our days and our nights. And through their days and nights Shamse was captivated by the moonlight and Edward was in awe of the sunlight. But the sun is potent, it's light can burn and the moon is tranquil, it's calmness can be misunderstood. Shamse worried that getting too close to Edward would only burn him and hurt her; but Edward would rather burn everyday for the rest of his mortal life than spend a single silent sunrise with Shamse.

Final Book in the Opulence Series! ♢♢♢ ❝Forgive me❞ ♢♢♢ After Nora left him, Oliver was sad and angry. Then Charlie came back into his life. Now he's sad, angry and confused. ♢ ♢ ♢ Oliver Scott. A name synonymous with entitlement. The golden child. A plutocrat with good intentions but horrible actions. As his debauchery begins to catch up to him, Oliver begins losing the threads that keep him grounded. When Nora leaves him, his dream life begins to dissipate. However, Oliver soon finds an unlikely ally in Charlie Kingsley, his dealer and 'sort-of friend'. But, when Charlie becomes more and more important in his life, Oliver is left with some very difficult decisions to make. ♢♢♢ IF YOU ARE CURRENTLY READING TKOM, PLEASE ENSURE YOU HAVE READ THE EPILOGUE FIRST BEFORE READING THE SYNOPSIS HERE. CANNOT BE READ AS A STAND ALONE- you have to read Gilded Butterflies and The King of Metropolis first. If you really want to enjoy the book and appreciate the details I highly recommend reading Opulent Glory too. My chapters are quite short so I promise it won't take too long.

For every action there is an equal and opposite reaction, and for these two, their lives have been planned down to a science. For Wylan Olson, being yourself can be very stressful. Since she was young, her emotions have always been backwards. The embodiment of 'tears of joy,' that laughs to keep from crying, not many people understand her struggle. Mostly because she barely understands it herself, but she's making it...barely. All she wants to do is make something out of herself, and she's willing to work for it. Kwame Okari has been raised to be perfect. His parents' strict expectations at son leave no room for friendships, which they regard as frivolous. Their only concern is for him to be Ivy League, and he cannot afford to disappoint. He is a boy on a mission, with a clear objective: be first. And there's only one person standing in his way-Wylan. As the two develop a better understanding of each other, competing agendas complicate their relationship forcing them to decide which is more important: attraction or ambition, satisfaction or success, friendship or fruition, and lead them to wonder if one has to be mitigated for the other.
