With nothing left to lose and only a feeling of raging hate in her heart, she resolved to join the Scouting Legion and kill as many Titans as she could to avenge her family. Her broken heart and spirit and 'friendship' with Eren Yeager helped her develop quite the attitude problem. Her combat skills and strategical prowess earn her a promotion to Squad Leader, while her attitude problem lands her on Corporal Levi's bad side.
