Update: This story has been discontinued. - I am terribly sorry. Your mother lied to you. She told you that you were unique, and that as a teenager you have a whole bunch of options you can choose from to determine who you want to be. She must have been high. Look, I'm going to tell you this honestly. Somewhere out there in this floating sphere of green and blue, there's a person who acts just like you. It's the combinations of different personalities - which eventually lead up to an actual human being - that makes us all unique. But it can't hurt to find out where your personality stems from, right? Wanna know who you are? I'll help you out. There are 36 students in my classroom. Which one are you?

--Watty winner-- In Victorian London, monster hunting isn't just a job, it's a way of life. Freddie Westman, a reporter for a paranormal magazine, is one of the best in the business, but now it's personal. His childhood friend, Jim Penderry, has disappeared, and the signs point to sinister forces from beyond the grave. If Westman wants to save Jim, he'll have to face his worst fear. No, not fighting a demon with only a cake to hand. Something far more daunting. Sceptical Sophie Penderry doesn't solve mysteries or go on adventures. She's more at home in the library with her nose in The Botanist's Guide to Plants and Fungi. But she puts the science books away to help Westman find her missing brother, whether he likes it or not. Which he really doesn't. Westman is a loner, reluctant to lead anyone into danger. According to him, the supernatural is not just the stuff of folklore and children's nightmares, and a world of black magic awaits them. Now Westman must decide if he should push Sophie away for her own safety, or take a leap of faith and accept an offer of help and friendship. Either way, time is running out to find Jim, and worse still, they may not make it back in time for tea and biscuits. ~Featured story (Sep 2014 - Aug 2017) ~Selected by R.L. Crystalkit. Born different from the start. Cast out from her Clan. Cast out by her own Mother. Her own Leader. I, am Crystalkit, I was born with strange magic pulsing through my paws and a spectrum of colours glinting in my eyes. I am special, not evil, like my own mother told me. I was cast out by my own clan at two moons old, defenseless and still lined with fluffy kit fur and still unable to walk a few paw-steps without the help of my mother. Unlike my brother, Silentkit, I was born weak, with a tendency to stick to my mother's side, no matter how much the other kits jeered at me and scoffed at how much I relied on my mother. I ignored them, believing that no matter what they said or did, my mother would be there for me. Oh, how wrong I was to believe that. Only to be driven out from my own Clan, my own home, from my own mother. And now-I face a life alone. Defenseless. Without my clan mates. Without anyone to provide for me. Then so be it. I will prove to myself and StarClan that the difference that forced me out my own Clan, is the difference that can change everything.

In the year 4116, life is much different from now. People no longer operate the city; instead robots tend to almost all of the labor, including, but not limited to, cooking, cleaning, manufacturing, tending animals, growing crops, et cetera. And, since robots occupy these harder jobs, all humans are needed for are repairing. So, in this new era, people no longer need knowledge or creativity, but stamina, strength and endurance. And this was the beginning of the rating system, the one that labeled everyone either a Perfect, Damaged, or Broken. Rosaline, or Rose or Ross, as she prefers, is a Broken. Brokens have basically no meaning in life, thus why they often commit suicide. But, unlike others, Ross is still alive, and has lived through two helpers and is getting a third. All Ross wants in life is a job, to do something helpful, but the world seems to be looking the other way. After all, she is broken, isn't she?
