My father told me a lot about my childhood. 15 years ago, when I wasn't even a year old, the world changed. The walkers, the... just everything. But they made it to Alexandria and that's our home now. It's perfect. Carl says it's just how it was before. I'm lucky I have a normal life and i don't have to go through all that. "Judith, " my dad says, "have fun at school." Carl turns around from the kitchen chair, "You're lucky you go to school. I spent everyday reloading guns and thinking about what to eat in the middle of a forest surrounded by walkers. They don't exist anymore. It's fine. You're safe." my 27 year old brother says. I wonder how it was before... __________________________

As he felt our presence, he looked up. His rotten flesh was hanging from his face and all over his deceased body. Crimson, red blood oozed out of his bite mark on his shoulder. A right arm stump was dangling along with his corpse. Yet, the worst was its eyes. They were lifeless, lacking a soul. Its haunting image got imprinted into our mind immediately. As the shock began to wear off, reality hit home. "Kristin, MOVE!" I screamed as I sprinted rabidly, startled. We didn't stop running until we got into the car and locked the doors. I lifted the keys into the ignition, but I couldn't even get them in, I was trembling fiercely. After four times of trying, Kristin took the keys from my hand and put them into place. "Thanks..." I whispered, but I was soon interrupted. Kristin yelled, "Drive, Amaris! Drive!" as her eyes widened and looked past me. Dr. Rudack was lurching towards us at full speed. I threw the car in reverse and slammed my foot on the pedal. The truck squealed backward and hit my "dead" partner square in the jaw. At lightning speed, I put the car in drive and zoomed out of the parking ramp saying, "I can't believe that the zombie apocalypse has begun." "Amaris, you have got to be kidding me. It has not 'begun'. There are no such things called zombies. It must of been a prank or something," Kristin dubiously remarked. As if she was not only trying to convince me, but also herself.
