She's often bullied for having parents who were known for tricking people or how Mariana calls it "a technique". Makenna Lewis. She's the opposite of Mariana, they're cousins--also best friends. They need each other more than anything. They find out they're gypsies, Mariana finds it amazing. Makenna... not so much. It just happens that Mariana's mom is put in the hospital. Could it be something simple like cancer? Or what if it's something else? Mariana finds the new guy at school suspicious. He's a heart-throb with a dark past. He takes an interest in Makenna which makes Mariana mad.
