Alex Bates has had more than enough of life. Plagued with the agonising guilt of being the cause for his sister's recent death, he's heading down a destructive path. But just as he is about to give into the urge to jump in front of an oncoming train, he's interrupted by a girl. Shy and observant Kalila Woods knows that no words can stop him so she only hands him a packet of Skittles and walks away. And so begins an unlikely friendship. She's on a mission to convince him of the many reasons to live and he's on a journey to find himself along the way. And maybe, just maybe, Alex will realise that dying isn't quite worth it.

[Completed but editing] Once reached #240 'That moment when you have only a split second to decide something that could mean life, or death, is one of the most important moments in your life. You only have that one minute, that one second to decide what's going to happen next. She was only eight. And although I didn't count fifteen as an old age, there was a difference between us. She still had her whole life ahead of her and I had messed mine up already.' There is nothing in the world that Katrina Johnson would like more than a happy family, a mother, a safe place to live. However all of this seems very far from reach as she trails through the typical Monday mornings and the weekends which seem even worse. Those weekends are when they go out into the night. Those long nights are when she wishes that she could go to bed without locking her door, or walk out of school without worrying about who might be waiting, or that her brother didn't start a gang, because that is when all the trouble seem to begin... ~Written by Mair Hayes (cherryade22) © All rights reserved.

Araya is depressed. She cuts, and she's attempted suicide many times. She barely eats, and she's the School's punching bag, especially for the popular clique of girls. But then there's a new boy, and she finds herself falling in love. But will she put her already broken heart out on the line? Or will she destroy herself? (Rated PG-13 because of strong language, self harm, depression, suicide, mentions of rape, and graphic sex.) (Warning to you homophobic people; there is lesbian/gay and Transgender stuff in the book.)
