Dan finally comes of age, which marks the time where he is to choose the person he most wants to rule with. Being in control of the element of fire doesn't seem to help him in this case, and it most definitely makes it harder to rule over the factions of the kingdom when they have such separate powers. Trouble escalates when the factions try to rise to power, and Dan has to do something to end it.

Phil's been hiding the fact that he's an Earthbender for ten years, ever since it's been considered illegal when the Fire Nation invaded.
