Julius is a sixteen year old boy who sets out into the snowy mountains to find his sister, Roxane, who disappeared three days ago. He stumbles upon the portal to Degree - a land where animals live and thrive - where he makes new friends and adventures.

I would highly recommend reading the first book before reading this book. Two new humans enter Degree in hopes of shelter, while Julius and Roxane aren't getting along too well. But that doesn't concern anyone when a mysterious force threatens them all.
