[ 18+ COMPLETED high school romance] Lina Andrews has always been a bookworm; she loves to read, and she loves to learn the depth of what lies behind the words-hence, why she's always found with her nose in a book. Even with how much her brother, Brooks, had always made fun of her for it, she didn't let it ruin her spirits. Lina thrives during school hours-taking whatever English courses she can get her hands on, working in the student council with her best friend Avrey, and getting lost in music. But her home life? Her home life is a secret she carries alone, even from her brother, who's the football star of the school. Hayden West is Brooks Andrews best friend; complete opposites, which baffles Lina as to why they're friends in the first place. Lina hates Hayden, who's the social outcast/badboy of the school. And since Lina has always showed disinterest in Hayden, Brooks had no reason to worry about them hooking up. Not until Hayden catches Lina in the midst of running away from her problems-and everything changes. Can Lina let go of the worst first impression she had of Hayden? Or will her pride and insecurity get in the way of their passion? All Hayden knows is what's his, and he's not going to stop until he gets it. And Lina isn't gonna give in that easily. ** this book will contain possible triggers, as well as mature content. The first you should know is that this is a VERY short version of Divergent; and it's been called the "best parody on here" by several different users. Don't believe me? I shall prove it. ************************ In Trisha Pretor's dystopian Toronto, society is divided into two ranks, both dedicated to a particular virtue— the Clean, who value appearance and wealth, and are judged harshly; and the Unclean, who are more casual and have a lower expectation, and live in poverty. Once they've matured, and have black eyes, teens are required to enter a virtual reality to determine which rank they are better suited for. Trisha discovers that she is Detergent, having an equal aptitude for each rank, while most people can only endure one. The next day they choose which rank they will devote the rest of lives to. Trisha must decide whether she wants to stay dark, dreary world of the Unclean, (with her family, while denying her true self) or if she wants to embrace who she is at heart. Training is highly competitive, and causes stress for all of the Trainers. Trisha adopts a new name for herself,“Bee”. She tries to discover the truth of who her friends are, who she really is, and how she where a secret, forbidden romance with a sometimes amazing, sometimes infuriating boy fits into the life she's chosen for herself. She’s got a deep secret, and she’s heard that it may be her downfall. Bee discovers that tensions between parts of the city are increasing, and they threaten to unravel her society–not just one of the ranks. She finds that her closely guarded secret could either save her life, and that of those she cares about— or destroy her.
