The arrival of a red carriage to the Templeton household, signals the imminent end of a peaceful time and the beginning of a more tumultuous one. All Charlotte remembers of her cousin Louis is how he used to pick on her and call her names. So when Charlotte hears the news that Louis and his mother are coming to stay for an unforeseeable period of time, she is not very pleased. Needless to say, she is not looking forwards to Louis' objectionable nature and her constant attempts to appease his mother who, in comparison, was not of any improvement. Charlotte tries to put him out of her mind and focus on her courtship with the delightfully handsome James but how can she ignore Louis when all he manages to do is leave chaos in her wake. Even though her contempt for Louis continues to grow, she starts to feels something else. An overwhelmingly, unrecognizable feeling bubbling just underneath the surface and it's beginning to take control.
*Note: Do not be alarmed! This is a period piece based in 1900s England where relationships between cousins were commonplace.* I felt like I had to put a disclaimer because someone mentioned they thought it was weird. 🤷🏾😊
