"Mute Girl", that's what they call her. Well, except Darcy, the school's Head Cheerleader, who calls her "Chatterbox." Bridget is mute. No one takes her seriously, least of all Darcy, the most popular girl in Hillview. They think that because she can't speak, she obviously doesn't have a personality either. But Bridget is determined to prove them wrong, and maybe get her neighbour, Hamish, to notice her in the process. Then disaster strikes, and Bridget finds herself alone.
