Swarthmoor, a small rural village in N.W. England is not the type of place you would associate with violent crime. A lot of it is true. It is up to you, the discerning reader, to distinguish fact from fabrication. I think it only right to apologise to Mr.Robinson, Mr.Malloy and Miss Cottam, my former History teachers, who would undoubtedly squirm at the version of Furness' past espoused in this tale.
