Scott and Katie have been friends since first grade, and they have always been inseparable, even when their interests began to grow in different directions. Scott, a choir nerd, and Katie, the starting center for the girls basketball team. Now Katie, age 19, has just started college, and Scott's music career with Pentatonix has taken off. Scott Hoying is a senior in high school and undoubtedly a jerk; a big one in fact. His parents are quite well known, and that is part of the reason why Scott is the way he is; popular and big headed. Mitch Grassi, on the other hand is quite the opposite. He is a junior, one year younger than Scott and is quiet and creative. He likes to keep to himself and never causes trouble. Scott couldn't care less about anyone but himself, but when the two clash and a secret about each of the young men is revealed, their worlds are turned upside down.

Everything Mitch had always done was perfect. His parents and everyone around him always told him so. He even kept his life on a tight schedule, just to keep things perfect. He was excited for his senior year to be perfect, but after a certain tall blond gets Mitch in trouble, he gets a much needed wake-up call.

After their parents died, Scott had to take care of his younger siblings. Kirstie is a rebel who refuses to listen Scott and sneaks out every night while Mitch is deaf, making it harder to communicate with each other. Scott works a part time job to pay off the endless bills he gets and it gets harder for him everyday. Avi and Kevin Olusola lost their only child in an accident. While in the middle of grieving, they move to Arlington. There, they will meet the three siblings. For some reason, a bond is made between them. A bond that is not to be broken. An unbreakable bond in simpler terms. Will Scott allow these people into his life or will be close himself off again?

Why happens if a new villain comes along and makes him insecure again? The villain will do everything to make Mitch feel like he is not special.
