Elle Grey doesn't need anyone. She only needs herself, a paintbrush, and if she gets desperate enough, there are the few people she actually tolerates that she can talk to. She knows that there's more out there in the world - in fact, she spends most of her time either daydreaming or painting about it. She knows that the South Dakotan town she's grown up in is only suffocating her. That's why she finds Harry so intriguing. He's different and he brings out something in her that she wasn't sure was still there. Suddenly she's second-guessing everything she has known her entire life - maybe she does need someone.

Renata Mendelssohn has been confined inside her master's home as a slave for the majority of her life. Along with her older brother named Engel and a young boy named Kilian, she has lived a life filled with harsh labor and limited freedom, for they were never allowed to set foot outside the boundaries of their master's house. Renata is convinced that they will live this way forever until the day Kilian escapes the house to watch the eventful procession of the Survey Corps returning from their recent expedition. In her journey to bring back Kilian, she encounters Commander Erwin Smith who enthusiastically offers to help Renata escape her servitude. His attempt in doing this results in an outcome that changes Renata's life completely. This turn in fate ultimately convinces Renata to join the Survey Corps. Renata struggles with her trust, determination, and strength as she lives an entirely new life of comradeship and war: things that she didn't need to deal with during her days as a slave. However, her life as a Survey Corps member isn't entirely bad. She realizes a much deeper meaning of life from her time spent with the cold Captain Levi. As he continues to work with her, Levi sees the beauty of compassion and empathy; two aspects of Renata that shine above all else. In this compelling fan-made story, readers will witness true love that reaches above and beyond walls: love that will remain eternal even if the day of humanity's obliteration becomes an unfortunate reality. "I don't think people love me. They love versions of me I have spun for them, versions of me they have construed in their minds. The easy versions of me, the easy parts of me to love." Roxanne Westbrook believed love was a complex emotion; either it existed within beings, or individuals were void of true affection. Despite this ideal, her face was always plastered with a smile and her social butterfly status never seemed to falter considering the circumstances. Twenty-four with a stable career as an accountant at the renowned Brightfield Law Firm and surrounded by trusted friends, Roxanne was oblivious to the dangers lurking in between the minuscule cracks, and the perpetrators shrouded behind them. That was, until a devoted lawyer by the name of Levi Ackerman caught her attention at a local bar one night, who would then eventually hurl Roxanne into a horde of unrequited dramas, disturbing secrets, betrayal, and most importantly, one unexpected love story.

She, Scarlette, could give you a list of reasons defending her decision to end her life. She could go on and on about how it isn't fair that her foster family is looked down upon by the community, all because her brother is gay. She could tell you how hard it is to focus in school because of the bullies. She could tell you how much she feels like a burden to her foster family. She could walk right off the edge of her high school's roof, too. But she can't. From his house across the street, high-school drop out Gerard sees her on top of the school. He races over to her, and gives her an ultimatum: step away from the edge, or he'll jump after. How could she be responsible for his death? All he asks for is all of Spring Break, two weeks, to convince her that the world isn't better off without her. That there are so many things for her to live for. As she agrees not to end her life that night and to give him two weeks, she truly begins to live. Even when she's put to the ultimate test.
