Hate math? It turns out that a lot of us do! I believe that is largely because we are not given an appreciation for it when we are young. Throughout our childhood and all of grade school, we are given problems and expected to solve them. Few teachers explain why math is important, and fewer still explain how it came about. While making you like math may not be an attainable goal, I certainly hope to make you appreciate it!

Ah, the art of Algebra One. This book carefully explains each of the chapters and lessons in the Ohio Common Core "Big Ideas Math" Algebra 1 class. Written by an Algebra One student herself, this book is split up into each individual topic and gives step-by-step rules on how to master each concept. Each section will include the steps to solving the various types of equations in each section, practice problems, a list of rules to remember, and also explanations on why these concepts are important to the real world.
