After many years, many edits, and over 500k reads on Wattpad, The Divide is finally published on Amazon! It's 2028, and Earth has been under attack by an alien species for two years. This human-like alien species, called Emigres, left their planet to start over after ruining it with constant nuclear war. Looking much like us, the only physical difference between humans and Emigres are that the Emigres have violet eyes. After wiping out much of the human race, the Emigres closed off an area of land in the United States and called it the Reserve. Any humans who surrender will be placed in there, and anyone who refuses to surrender is immediately killed. 18-year-old Rachel Collins has spent the last two years in the Reserve, but talk about a group of humans building an army outside the walls has her curious to see what lies beyond them. When her father escapes to join the rebels, Rachel plans her escape as well. What are the Emigres planning, and will the rebels be able to stop it? Rachel is about to find out, and only one thing is certain: the end of our world is the beginning of theirs. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Book One in the Soldiers of the Earth series RANKED #8 IN SCIENCE FICTION SELECTED BY THE 5TH WAVE MOVIE FOR STRONG FEMALE LEAD CHOSEN AS WATTPAD BOOK OF THE WEEK: http://cbybookclub.blogspot.co.uk/2015/07/book-of-week-wattpad_11.html

Jack Wallace assumed a zombie apocalypse would forever be contained to books and movies, just another metaphor for the human condition or next multi-million franchise. So when an actual outbreak decimated over 75 percent of the world population, it quickly stopped being a metaphor and became very real. One year after the outbreak, the U.S. Government assisted in rounding up the infected into Dead Zones. Two years after the outbreak, people began leaving the desolate Army refugee camps to take their chances outside the rusted chain link fences. Now three years after the outbreak Scavengers survive in their outposts, salvaging what they can and thriving outside of Army control. When Jack is assigned to a routine deployment to the Miami Dead Zone, he was not expecting to be ordered to spy on the current head of the Scavenger leadership. Faced with conflicting loyalties, can Jack maneuver around a covert mission bigger than himself and far more dangerous than any flesh eating zombie?

My name is Violet Mercer. When I was about 4, I watched my parents die. A few weeks later, I was branded and shipped off with a bunch of other kids to my new fate, to train and learn for 10 years until I was sold to someone else as a slave. Brutal beginning? Yeah. But it's the truth. See, here's the thing. A few years back--maybe a little under 50--we humans did something stupid. It was part of an experiment called G42 by some genetics company that was trying to speed up evolution. What did they do? Well, they altered specific genetic strands to see if they could create a sort of super-human. Their answer? Yes. But there was a flaw in their plan. These new 'evolved' humans, or 'evos', were everything they could have hoped for--strong, and fast, and smart. Practically immortal, too, so what was the problem? They were born without emotions. Maybe this doesn't sound too bad to you, but our emotions? They're what make us human. What happened next was kinda inevitable: the Evos took over. There are two strands of DNA--get one, and your set for life. Get the other, good luck living to see past your sweet sixteen. And if you are one of the crazy (or brave, depending on who you ask) people who dares to bring a child into this world, you could give them the best, longest life ever, or doom them to an early death after a suckish life. So, yeah. Our world is screwed up. And we can't go to G42 for a solution, because as soon as the Evos realized the possibilities, they slaughtered everyone who might know something and blew up the facility. Now, dear reader, are you beginning to understand the use of emotions? This is my story. I still don't know how it ends, whether it was all for better or worse. But you're here. So go ahead and read. Maybe we'll both learn a little something. Welcome to my life. I hope you survive in this new world. By Earthstone #567 in Teen Fic on 6/17/2016
