After Hillary Skywood won the 72nd Hunger Games and brought honour to District 4, she never expected the show to keep going and she certainly wasn't expecting to re-enter the arena 3 years later. When Haymitch Abernathy and Plutarch Heavensbee come to her with a radical idea, she began to expect the unexpected especially when it came to Finnick Odair.

District 4 has only three alive victors right? No, District 4 has another famous Victor. The Victor's name is Saphira Emerald or as the Capitol know her as 'The Hidden Gem' (I know creative much.) Saphira is very similar to Finnick Odair in her games story except people for whatever reason cherish her more. The main reasons are that she is the prettiest or 'sexiest' woman in all of Panem, her voice has an accent which when spoken normally can make you weak to your knees it doesn't matter which gender, she is the smartest Victor to win the games besides Beetee and last but not least, there was an obvious reason she won her games... She's deadly... But what happens when she is picked for the Third Quarter Quell? How will everyone react? More importantly How will Finnick react? The winner of the 68th Hunger Games, Marilla Lutz, is being thrown back into the arena years later to participate in the Quarter Quell, where the remaining victors are reaped back into the games. While she, her former mentor (Finnick Odair), and the rest of the tributes train for the games, they learn of a plan to save the victors, if they agree to protect Katniss Everdeen, the Mockingjay. But when Mari spills a Capital secret, President Snow will do everything in his power to make sure she dies in the Games, and suffers while doing so. Unknowingly, she becomes a symbol of hope for the Districts and sparks rebellion. They call her The Mermaid. Even if she does live long enough to be rescued from the arena, she doesn't realize what the consequences will be if she makes it out alive.
