I am 22 years old and I have had a bad experience with Rohypnol (A.K.A- roofies.) I am one of many women who have been victimized of sexual assault. Its almost completely uncomfortable sharing this story because I am slightly ashamed. I never spoke up because I did not want people to view me differently for what has happened to me but I think its important that I share my story to bring awareness to this reoccurring and common problem. I never reached out for help and it ate away at me until I couldn't take it anymore. I never thought Id be capable of putting my worst nightmare into words but here is my story... That night.. I was beyond excited. Excited for dancing, making fun memories, and meeting new people. I got ready with my best friend Jordyn. She had curled my long brown hair while I did my makeup. I had wore my favorite grey pencil skirt with a tight black tank top that I had tucked into the waistband. We were looking good and feeling even better. "The club isn't ready for us" She said and we both laughed. The night was full of expectation and promise of a great time, but little did I know it would take a turn for the worst...
