They are related because when Tom Riddle Senior died, Voldemort's mother fled to New York and changed her name to Laura Jackson and married a guy named Jim Jackson. Her daughter Sally was a Squib and had a son named Percy, who was capable of much more than just being a demigod. He was a wizard. Harry is furious that his arch-nemesis has another way to make the world a world of pure bloods, and he is even more mad when the Heir is going to Hogwarts.
