Damon and Elena Salvatore have been happily married for seventeen years, with three beautiful children. They live in Mystic Falls at the boarding house along with Caroline and Stefan Salvatore (and their daughter). But seventeen years is way too long to be perfectly happy in Mystic Falls, isn't it ?
