The novelization for the eighties Chipmunks cartoon episode "Dream Lighting." Brittany has a dream about her favorite romantic detective show, and her sisters and the chipmunks take the spots of the characters! David Alvinson (Alvin), private investigator, works hard to solve a mystery with his client Ms. Snoop (Eleanor) The secretary of the detective agency, Ms. Da Pest (Jeanette) is along for the ride, but willing to help from her post at the agency. Meanwhile, Alvinson's love interest, and ex-co-worker Bratty Hayes (Brittany) becomes a perfume spokesperson for the company Snoop works for. Bratty may have interest in the charming, classy president of the company, Simon Le Simon (Simon), which might cause a twisted triangular problem with Alvinson. Snoop and Alvinson think there is something going on with Le Simon, but they are yet to find out. Is Bratty in danger by being coupled with Le Simon? Or can Alvinson save Bratty before it's too late? The Chipettes and the Chipmunks have a musical showdown at a talent show. You have the popular, pretty, talented, rich girls Brittany, Jeanette, and Elenore, and the popular, hot, talented, rich boys Alvin, Simon, and Theodore. All want the glory, but one group will win. Will the tension go to Brittany's head? Will she trust Alvin and let her fears of losing go? Or will she let Alvin go forever? Based off of the idea of Pitch Perfect (it's one of those musicals) and a "mean girl" story kind of like The Clique. The Chipmunks/Chipettes are human.

Is it his mesmerizing blue eyes, mischievous smirk, or that good sense of humor that's beginning to make her regret her rudeness towards him in the past? Alvin has proved to Brittany that he's matured a little, and he could be ready for a real relationship, but this is all a little too much for Brittany to take in. Can she end a war with herself and admit that she likes him, or will she end the friendship once and for all? THIS IS A ONE SHOT! But since there was a large request for a part 2, I decided to give this one shot three parts. Inspired by the song "If Only" from the new Disney movie "Descendants."
