Highest Standing: #2 in Historical Fiction ____________________ She has mixed blood. She is reminded of it every day. Half Scottish and half Norse, she has always been a bit of an outcast. She takes refuge in the arts of swordsmanship and archery, something those around her deem unfit for a girl. When men from the north come back to the Isles again, the King of the North decides to take Lagertha back to his homeland to be his wife. She is savvy enough to persuade him that she should be set free from his wedding plans, but The King of North has another idea in mind. He intends to make the myth of the shield-maiden real and there is nothing she can do to stop him. Caught up in a bloody war between clans, Lagertha must decide if she is willing to go against all she believes and abandon her home to protect her friends or if she will leave her new life behind to return to the one she was torn from. ****** This is not historically accurate. There may be some violent scenes that may disturb readers.
