BOOK ONE. Meet Faye Foreigner. She comes from a good family, who are kind as well as wealthy. She has a great personality, and seems to have her whole life ahead and ready for her. But something's off about her family, and Faye starts to notice it. The Foreigner family's past is long, painful, and hard. War, love, anger, peace and greed shake this family's secret-filled past. When the secret her family is keeping is to much for them to handle, it all comes spilling out: Faye, along with her family, are dragon riders. But when Faye finds out how powerful she really is, will she be able to handle it along with the information to come? Or will she lose her grip and, possibly, everything else she loves so dearly? Please note, I will no longer be updating this. I wrote this quite a few years ago, and it doesn't reflect my skills as a writer and is too deeply flawed to correct. I'm sorry for anyone who enjoyed this, but it's time to move on to newer, better things. Thanks for understanding ♥ Long ago, animals controlled the elements of Mirinnia. But with the uprising of the humans, the powers were lost. Many animals went extinct, including most humans themselves. The next eclipse was supposed to bring the return of the mystical powers, but devastatingly, it did not. Seasons upon seasons passed. Truths became stories. Stories became myths. All of the animals simply forgot of the mystical powers. Some just assumed that they were simply children's tales, while others just forgot of them completely. However, a select few groups still carry knowledge of these mystical powers to control day, night, and all of the other elements. Enter Purefia and Verity. Born in the depths of the Wanderling forest, they were only taught the basics on how to survive the unforgiving wilderness and kicked out as soon as they were old enough. In Mirrinia, most animals leave when they choose, and are taught about the animal God Neiraku, different cultures, history, and other things, leaving Purefia and Verity to a rather unorthodox upbringing in the standards of Mirinnia. What makes them even more strange is that they were born on an eclipse, which hasn't happened to anyone's knowledge for as long as one can remember. Born with ancient powers dormant inside of them, Purefia and Verity must face the cruelty of the wilderness, animals that wish to take control of them, and worst of all, each other. They're uncontrollable. They're unbound. They're Startouched.
