In all my centuries of living I had not loved anyone more than I had loved Damon. Then my father came to town, I knew he intended to kill me and everything I loved. I had to protect me soulmate. I faked my death and leave to keep Damon safe. In my absence a girl by the name of Katherine Pierce changed him. My compulsion came undone and I had to make him forget me, there was only one thing that would reverse my compulsion. Three words, words I had vowed never to say again. Even now, when I see him 150 years later, I cannot bring myself to say them. Even if I still do, love him, that is.
