High school in the early 90s: it was before cell phones and social media, but the problems were the same. How do you get the guy you're interested in to notice you? What happens if you fall in love with your best friend? Why does physics class keep factoring into your love life? This novella is loosely based on my own high school experiences... but sort of an alternate version of them. You can only make one set of choices in life, so it's fun to explore what could have been - but wasn't - in fiction. Also, set in 1991-92, this is kind of a period piece now! In some ways it's a love letter to the teen books I read back in the 80s and 90s, in particular those by Ellen Conford and Paula Danzinger. I hope you enjoy it. This story was featured on Wattpad in 2016.

"Dreams are fictitious. This is the reality." Sydney Addison Harper's a stereotypical nerd, an outcast, who wanted nothing more than being a middle-of-the-road sociable teenager, with no special aspects, that had a later curfew and more friends to party with. Jayden Carter, athletic, tall and handsome; the solicitous best friend who seemed pulled her out of many suicidal thoughts. He was dote upon her but he'd keep that sub rosa from her, thinking she'd never know. Damien Blake, the porcelain-white teeth and sculpted-face bully who was defined by his apex of fame with all the people who adored him almost too much. But bullying wasn't all that Sydney faced; she suffered extra hardship from her parent's separation and the heart-twinging pain from all the cruel discrimination and, whital, she fell in love with people she shouldn't fall in love in. During the summer holidays, Sydney had gained a new neighbor next door. She was captivated by the sweet and loving, yet the looks that complimented the thought that he was every girls' dream boy, Asher Drayson.
