Joe Hahn, the sound technician and director for the band Linkin Park, has just made a fatal mistake: He has just killed his identical twin brother, Li Hahn, in cold blood, and must now live with the traumatic repercussions of his actions. Joe has closed himself up entirely, save for one person: his best friend, Rob Bourdon, the band's drummer. Rob has known for some time that there was a darkness brewing in his friend's heart, but the horror of watching Li's death unfold in front of him and his fellow band members has rocked Rob to his core. Rob quickly becomes desperate to help his friend deal with the expected mental and emotional trauma, as well as some unexpected physical trauma: a severe limp that has developed in Joe's right leg, and blinding, excruciating headaches that can somehow bring Joe to his knees. Can Rob get help for his friend before it's too late? Or will the impact take it's toll?
