As the youngest sister of the current Sultan, Eliska has been raised in the harem. But she's been trained not to be a bride, though she has had instruction in the womanly arts, but rather as a spy. To protect her brother and the rest of the family, she must pretend to be someone else entirely in order to keep their lands safe. Tariq is a fixer, with a well deserved reputation in the criminal underworld for being the go-to person for any kind of problem that needs solving and the willingness to do anything to solve his clients problems. Hired to find a boy taken by slavers, he's reminded strongly of his own past and dedicates himself to the search. As his investigation continues, he keeps running into the same pretty girl who attacked him, apologized, and then paid him off all in the same night. Neither can deny that the other is interesting and as their mutual goals begin to converge, a kind of alliance springs up between them. But Tariq is a criminal and Eliska a princess, and whatever else might be growing between them, it might not be enough to overcome their barriers and secrets. If they even manage to keep themselves alive among dark magic, plots, and corruption. NaNoWriMo project for 2015.

PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS STORY IS ON HOLD AND MAY NOT BE UPDATED UNTIL AT LEAST JAN 2022 In times past, a warrior would eat the heart of his enemies to gain their strength... These are the times past. The Queen of Hearts sits on the throne of Catrimar. Her signature phrase? Off with their head and out with their heart. With every heart she consumes, the Queen grows stronger and more skilled and no one dares challenge her for the throne. But when a magic mirror and a prediction from a seer show her the girl who will be her downfall, the Queen is determined to nip the rose in the bud. She sends her slave, a werewolf with a black past, to take the girl's heart, but their encounter unearths secrets that neither wants uncovered. Secrets that may put both of them in serious danger... This is the story of a sympathetic assassin, a haunted Queen, and maid with lilac eyes, sure to smash the stereotypes you think you know. A fairy tale mash up with elements from Alice in Wonderland, Little Red Riding Hood, Snow White and Beauty and the Beast and based on Native American and Aztec superstition (the heart eating bit). (Now rated mature for potentially triggering content related to suicide and self harm. Chapters containing such content are marked as such.)

Sam is the most promising swordsman among this year’s crop of Paladin trainees...and knows it. Brash, cocky, and unbeatable with a sword (well, almost), Sam is the kingdom of Thule’s best hope against the violence wrought by demons. The only problem is that Sam is really Lady Samantha, daughter of the seventeenth Duke of Haywood, and if her father has his way, she’ll be marrying a Paladin, not becoming one. But Sam has never held much interest in playing damsel-in-distress, and so she rescues herself from a lifetime of boredom and matrimonial drudgery. Pity that Tristan Lyons, the Paladin assigned to train her, is none other than the hero of her childhood. He hasn’t recognized her as Lady Samantha--yet-- but if he does, he’ll take away her sword and send her packing. Sam is not the only trainee hiding secrets: Braeden is a half-demon with a dark past that might be unforgivable. Sam, Braeden and Tristan set out for the western coast, charged with rooting out an infestation of demons that has made the West unlivable. As they travel, they uncover a deep-seated corruption of power that threatens to derail everything they stand for. Rebellion stirs, led by a rival faction of warriors who tempt Sam to join them with an irresistible offer. A war between men is coming, and Sam must pick a side. Will saving the kingdom cost her life -- or just her heart? Reminiscent of Mulan, but with a medieval fantasy twist, Paladin is a tale of adventure, action, and romance.

Something quite alarming has been happening to Princess Yavenna, heir to the throne of Tarhasta. Since her sixteenth birthday a year and a half ago, she's been getting stronger and faster; quite shockingly so. She knows it certainly can't be anything to do with magic - magic has been against the law for years in Tarhasta. But there's not really anyone she can talk to about it as her mother died when she was seven and her best friend Marco won't discuss anything that might get him into trouble with Yavenna's father King Yeroz. Well, Yavenna thought her father was King Yeroz - but when she is sent to Arvad to marry the notorious King Ulric against her will, Yavenna begins to find out nothing in her life is quite what she thought it was. On the surface, Arvad is a fertile, prosperous country. But when she gets there, Yavenna discovers strange people with unexpected powers. And some of them seem a little too keen to stick uncomfortably close to her. Especially when Yavenna finds out she's a bit more like some of them than she ever dreamt was possible. Luckily for Yavenna, King Yeroz made sure she was brought up knowing one end of a bow from another. That comes in quite useful as she often makes too-rash decisions and can't always keep her mouth shut. Sometimes those qualities don't help when you're trying to make friends in a foreign land. And they are definitely some of the worst qualities you could ever have when you find yourself falling in love... Start reading today and enter Yavenna's world of secrets, magic, wolves and romance.
